The audit you are allowed to run
The equation I was living by: achievement equals belonging. Therefore: stopping achievement equals exile.
I built a career on that arithmetic. It got me across borders, through examinations, into rooms that required credentials I was working to earn. It worked. The equation was not wrong for its time and its context.
But I kept solving for it after the original problem had been resolved. I kept running toward a belonging that I had already, in the permanent sense, arrived at. I was buying safety I had already purchased. I was earning a right I had been born with.
You have at least one equation running that has expired. You may not know which one yet, and that is fine. But this week I want you to write one of them down, fully, and hold it at arm's length and ask: is this mine? Did I choose this, or did I find it already installed?
You are allowed to update the software. Your mother, your father, the culture, the training: they did not give you those equations to trap you. They gave you what they had. Now you have more. Use it.
