A Mirror

Read each question slowly. Sit with it before writing. These are not questions to answer quickly.

Question 1

Describe the room you are building: not your literal home, but the life, the relationships, the calendar, the inputs. What is in it that reflects who you actually are?

Question 2

Name one thing you have been carrying into rooms it does not belong in. The coat, the performance, the equation. What would it feel like to leave it at the door?

Question 3

What is the first step of the walk for you? Not the whole journey. Just the first step from where you are standing right now.

Question 4

Who in your life would say "there you are" if you arrived as the person underneath the performance? Who is still waiting to meet that version of you?

Question 5

What did you come here to do, underneath all the proving? Before the world added its instructions, what did you already know you were for? ---

Weekly Practice

Read one of these each morning this week. Before the phone.

Day 1 I noticed that coming home meant leaving who I had to be.
Day 2 I named the self I performed to survive.
Day 3 I let myself return to who I actually am.
Day 4 I stopped defending the version that was never me.
Day 5 I stood, even briefly, as my real self.
Day 6 I let home be a self, not just a place.
Day 7 I am willing to come all the way home.
